Interiors from Spain Unveils “ESPEJOS”: Reflections of Spain at Downtown Design 2025

An Immersive Experience curated by Swiss Bureau Interior Design (SBID).

Dubai, UAE: Interiors from Spain will once again showcase its vision at Downtown Design 2025 during Dubai Design Week, from the 5th to the 9th of November, in collaboration with Swiss Bureau Interior Design (SBID). Renowned for representing Spain’s most distinguished design firms, this year’s participation features ten leading brands: APE Grupo (porcelain tiles); Ondarreta, and Punt Mobles (furniture); OGO Furniture, iSiMAR and OISIDE (outdoor furniture); Lladró, LZF, and Marset (lighting); and Nanimarquina (rugs).

SBID strategically presents the idea of Spain through a metaphor that appeals to emotion. Using a rhetorical approach, they explore what Spain feels like, creating a vibrant and surreal composition of contrasts, textures, and immersive environments. The result is a sensory experience that shapes functional, engaging spaces where every detail reflects Spain’s unique identity, making its design instantly recognisable and impactful.

The design balances each brand’s individual essence with a shared commitment to craftsmanship and durability. At its heart is “Espejos” (Mirrors in Spanish), inspired by the reflection mirrors create and Spain’s innovative spirit. “With ‘ESPEJOS’, we didn’t just want to design a space that shows off Spanish style — we wanted it to feel like Spain itself: bold, passionate, and always on the move. It’s where tradition and innovation bump into each other like two dancers on a crowded tapas night —sometimes clashing, sometimes harmonizing — but always creating something immersive, unexpected, and very much alive” says Joakim de Rham, Founder at Swiss Bureau Interior Design. This project magnifies the passion and artistry, and innovation of the country, inviting visitors to explore the realm of Spain.

The structure is divided into four quadrants: two dedicated to interiors, two to exteriors, with the centre functioning as a courtyard—the communal heart that ties everything together. At its mirrored center, visitors are urged to pause, as all elements converge visually and conceptually, reflecting the design’s vision. The exteriors draw on Spanish architecture, echoing Gaudí’s vibrant palette and intricate patterns, the passion of flamenco, and the imagination of surrealist art.

More than just an exhibition, the overall design aims to evoke a sense of wonder and emotional connection. It invites visitors to step into a space that feels distinct, immersive, and unforgettable.
