Fronteriors Debuts at Downtown Design Dubai 2025 with an Immersive “Residence” Showcase
Dubai, UAE, November 5, 2025: Fronteriors, the UAE-born brand redefining IKEA cabinetry, makes its Downtown Design debut with The Residence – an immersive installation that reflects the brand’s evolution from Dubai roots to a global design voice. Blending artistry, customisation, and collaboration, the showcase explores how everyday cabinetry can be elevated into extraordinary design statements.
At the heart of The Residence is a shared vision of refined living. Alongside its cabinetry collections, Fronteriors presents Corston Architectural Detail as a co-exhibitor, bringing a complementary selection of hardware, lighting, and interior accessories that embody timeless British design. Together, the two brands create a cohesive environment that celebrates detail, craftsmanship, and a modern interpretation of home.
The exhibition unveils two international collaborations that highlight Fronteriors’ design evolution. The Curved Collection by Prime Projects (Jovanna Joseph and Brendan Mahoney, Miami & NYC) introduces sculptural cabinet fronts in soft, rounded forms. Presented in shades of Butter, Burgundy, and Midnight, the collection expresses tactility and colour through Fronteriors’ modular language. The Harmon Series by Avenue Design Studio (Holly Marder, Netherlands) reimagines cabinetry through the lens of mid-century geometry and rhythm – pairing oak finishes with a new colourway that evokes calm and cohesion inspired by the classic chessboard and the visual artistry of The Queen’s Gambit.
Fronteriors’ debut also celebrates the power of partnership with Cosentino, Nordic Homeworx, Cover Paint, and Quooker. From Cosentino’s innovative, sustainable surfaces to Nordic Homeworx’s premium Swedish flooring, Cover Paint’s versatile finishes, and Quooker’s state-of-the-art kitchen taps, each partner contributes to an immersive environment defined by elevated materiality, refined design, and function.
“Despite our rapid growth in the US and Europe, it was important to us that our first exhibition take place here in Dubai – our home base and the city where the Fronteriors journey began,” said co-founders Kathryn Hawkes and Linda Dekkers. “Downtown Design offers the perfect platform to not only showcase our products, but to demonstrate how the idea of elevating IKEA cabinetry has matured into a design-led movement embraced by high-end projects globally.”
Fronteriors is proudly women-led, with a diverse team of designers and creatives united by one mission: to educate design lovers on how to elevate the everyday by transforming IKEA frames into custom-looking cabinetry. With offices in Dubai and Houston, and a network of global collaborators, the brand has become known for refined, accessible solutions that marry practicality with design sophistication.
Fronteriors invites visitors to step inside The Residence and experience how thoughtful design, craftsmanship, and collaboration can transform the everyday into the extraordinary.
