Dhow Returns to Downtown Design 2025 with ‘The World of Vitra’ Installation

Exploring the timeless dialogue between heritage and contemporary design.

Dubai, UAE. Dhow returns to Downtown Design for its second year, reaffirming its presence at the Middle East’s premier design fair. The participation highlights Dhow’s role in bringing iconic global brands and design experiences to the region. 

This year, Dhow presents ‘The World of Vitra’, an immersive installation designed to capture the essence of iconic design. Visitors will explore a series of distinct Vitra rooms, each offering a unique atmosphere and perspective. Long drapes of sheer fabric bring scale and presence to the space, shaping an environment that feels both open and intimate. Combined with carpeted flooring and thoughtfully placed plinths, the installation creates a serene, inviting ambience that encourages visitors to pause and explore. The lighting, selected from iconic pieces by Artemide and Louis Poulsen, complement the installation, adding depth and focus, enhancing the space’s visual impact.

A key highlight of this year’s installation is Season 2 of the Vitra Eames Collection, reinterpreting the original Eames family designs in new finishes, fabrics, and materials. The collecation has been thoroughly reworked to suit contemporary needs. 

Visitors will also have the opportunity to experience exclusive launches, including the limited edition Louis Poulsen PH 3/2 Table Lamp, a collector’s piece available to order only until the end of 2025, with no re-release planned, making it an exceptional highlight for design enthusiasts. 

Together, these elements create a space that celebrates design heritage while offering visitors a chance to engage with rare and iconic creations that define modern design culture.
