Shalini Misra | Shakti Design Residency

At Alcova during Milan Design Week 2026, the Shakti Design Residency will unveil six new works developed by its second cohort, marking a strong new chapter for the programme founded by Shalini Misra. Presented at Casa delle Suore, the installation brings together international designers and leading Indian ateliers in a dialogue between contemporary design thinking and heritage craftsmanship.

Conceived as a platform for meaningful cross-cultural collaboration, this year’s presentation features new pieces created with Vikram Goyal Studio, Jaipur Rugs, Klove Studio, Frozen Music, and Heirloom Naga Centre, with the installation curated by artist and scenographer Duyi Han.

The result is one of Alcova’s most compelling showcases this year: foregrounding material experimentation, artisanal knowledge, and the evolving relevance of craft within contemporary design.
